HOW CAN I HELP MY CHILD? WHAT SHOULD I DO?
You love your child, and he is having problems. His negative behaviors are increasing. Maybe he has experienced a trauma and is reacting to that trauma. His anxiety is overwhelming him. He is afraid to go to school and to go to sleep. Maybe he has ADHD and is difficult to manage at home and at school. Perhaps he is depressed.
Possibly your adolescent is out of control, suicidal or using drugs. She refuses to do anything that you ask. Her grades are dropping and you have received another call from the school. Maybe she is suicidal, anorexic or cutting herself.
You and your spouse are at odds as to what to do. You want to do the best for your child, but you have run out of ideas or options.
Any of these issues can leave you frightened for your child or pulling out your hair in frustration. Well meaning friends and family give you advice that doesn't seem to help. So deciding the next step is an important decision. If this sounds familiar, it makes sense to work this out with an un-biased third party. Someone who will help you make the best decision for your child. Let me help you sort through your child's problems with you. If you decide to stay, we can make a plan to help your child. If you decide to leave, I can help you with other options.
It is time to make that call.
